When working on the database for a battle system, Where do you guys think is the best place to start?

    stat based for sure. I guess I feel like I keep running around in circles. I think I should define states before anything else though right?

    IMO, Databasing should be the last thing you do, and it should come as you come up with new weapons/armors. Items, however, definitely should be thought out before hand. Your defining of Actors and Classes should be the first, followed by Items, then everything else.

    That's how I've always worked, anyway.

    Already did those things Arin, as my stats run on an easy to manipulate scale, the enemies are kind of easy to plug in as I go. Item values kind of fall in that boat as well. Database to me seems intuitively the place to start as my game is battle intensive. I always try and slay dragons before swatting flies :\
