Just had a brainwave involving the fact that the Attack command is based on whatever the first ability: Making it do something... more.

Example, you can make Attack require a resource, or give a resource (or both). You can make Attack activate a common event, or drain a resource. I'm still expecting to see a lot of plain ol' Attacks since I'm sure most people will want to keep that feature, but there is still a lot of room to get really creative here (especially with resource systems).

I wonder how late to the game I was at coming to this realization... >.>

Hmm... you could probably also modify the properties of a character's basic attack over the course of the game using Trai... I mean, Features (why'd they change that, anyway) attached to weapons or states.

Of course, changing the basic attack into something not... well, basic, would only work in certain games, but has the potential to be interesting.

Nice! You can also find uses for guard, since it's a skill as well.

They've made a lot more things in this engine more open and accessible towards editing than in the previous editors. XD I knew the regular attack could be modified, but never thought about it in the way you did....

Oh yeeeeaaaah, I forgot about guard being in there too. With the way effects work it makes it REALLY easy to have health or some other resource regenerate when guard is used.

Since my game is all about building and managing skills well, I'd let my attack stay vanilla with it only serving as the single fastest way to raise TP.
