Here are some tiles made with larger pixels (4 in 1) that would be perfect for SNES the way it was meant to be, on a large screen.

Obviously they aren't finished yet, but I jump all over the place to show more types of things, at least that's what I keep telling myself.

hey man thanks for sharing. it's awesome to see some more original stuff around here. did you make all of these or are some rips? there seems to be a lot of variation in styles.

one thing that sticks out noticeably is that a lot of objects are blown up to different sizes—resulting in a really ugly and awkward juxtaposition of different pixel sizes. imo that will prevent a lot of people from using too much of these and is totally worth putting the time into fixing them. consistency among graphics is like the most important thing

Thanks for the comments!

@Despain: I made all of these; I did so by expanding the size after I did them in a regular 1x1 pixel.
I remember everything I played with looked just as pixelated, and that's why it gives some peeps a feeling of nostalgia over at vx.net. The variation in style is just my eyes not noticing (except for maybe the tops of the trees and some grass; I plan on fixing those as I have trouble with them...)

Alas...I have a terrible eye for what clashes; I do hope that there isn't too much style variation; I don't know what I'd do to fix it. xD
But, the blown up objects are intentional.

At least once the VXA comes you can make as many sets as you want in this style and not feel as limited.

After all to the well organized mind, death is but the next great adventure.

These are pretty cool, there's not a whole lot of retro style graphics out there and for people like me who like retro games these are indeed for welcome resources, thanks.

I am updating to showcase a couple added pre-made buildings.
I think I'm just about done with them for the time being, now I have to make trees/mountains/overworld buildings for the world map tile.

Thanks Kodi; I'm aiming for early snes.

Since I'm working on word map stuff now, I though it fitting to first create the ship and the airship graphics.

Really nice looking if you're going for the old school pixelated look, I'm sure someone will make good use of them.

Great stuff, keep it up man, I prefer the pixels to the blurry looking VX tile style.
Old school pixel work is the best imo.

Thanks for the replies guys!

I've been pretty busy with some custom stuff of more quality than this, for my own project, but I definitely won't stop what I'm doing here at least until I've finished the basic tiles. I do have some world map stuff I can show off below:

I've used this and I've noticed that in TileD the sword and the stairs are a bit too close.
Cause a small line of pixels from the stairs shows up with the Sword.

I am definitely using this tileset in one of my games ^.^
I needed a retro-ish video game area and this would be great!
